Aimée McAvoy gained a strategic insight into the value of events at the start of her career whilst working on a portfolio of festival and events grants programs in Scotland. Later she worked on business events before returning to culture to play a key role during the repositioning of The Film and TV Charity in the UK against a backdrop of widespread industry action against bullying and harassment, including working on the Royal Film Performance. She delivered events for the Mayor of London as part of work to support the city’s recovery from COVID-19, supported by Bloomberg Associates before going freelance in 2021. Since then she has worked on projects including an annual film school graduation showcase at the British Film Institute and delivered launch events for a range of non-profit programmes.
