Both

The design partners behind New York-based Both take pride in creating unique, bold wedding and party invitations that break the mold. They also happen to be a married couple themselves who were originally inspired to utilize their design backgrounds to create their own wedding invitations, after not being able to find anything that spoke to their specific tastes. This experience eventually led them to create Both. Their invitation designs embrace creativity, vibrant color choices, and unique shapes, perfect for all those drawn to unconventional and modern styles.
Founders Miruna and Andrei describe how their metropolitan surroundings serve as inspiration for their artwork: “New York City is our muse. Its diversity and individuality are endless wells of inspiration. From its bold architecture to its eclectic art and fashion scenes, New York City constantly challenges us to think differently. We also love looking outside the wedding industry for ideas,” they explain. “Art galleries, graphic design, and even the textures of everyday city life inspire us.”
They summarize their designs as “boldly vibrant,” and elaborate on their Paperless Post invitations: “Our collection is full of life—an energetic celebration of individuality. Each invitation tells its own story. Some designs are soft and organic, while others are sharp, geometric, and experimental. The collection is a colorful playground of possibilities designed for couples who want their invitation to feel just as unique as their love story.”
Carolyn Suzuki Studio

Carolyn Suzuki summarizes her digital invitation and card collection as “fun and mischievous.” The Los Angeles-based illustrator strives to make art that tells uplifting and empowering stories and creates designs that embrace playful imagery, bright hues, and clever visual humor, representing her creative, independent spirit.
Carolyn finds inspiration from all over the place for her eclectic illustrations and designs. “The world is my oyster!” she exclaims. “Whatever I can imagine, I can conjure up with my drawings. For me, it is important to have some limitations, though, or I would never be able to move forward with any project. In the case of designing invitations and cards, the limitations are set by the occasion and the size and shape of the card.”
She discusses her process for collecting art and images that inspire her online as well:“Whenever I have some downtime, I collect images and organize them on Pinterest. I never give myself a goal or a specific theme—just gather images that inspire me. I actually have a board I call “WTF Inspo,” which includes anything odd, old, fun, or colorful that doesn’t necessarily fit into other categories, and I tend to draw a lot of inspiration from that. Then, when it’s time to design a new collection, I browse my boards and look for themes that might stick out to me. Since so much of my inspiration comes from vintage and old products and designs, something usually emerges.”
Chand Sitara

“Chand Sitara” translates in Hindi to mean “moon and stars.” The bespoke stationery studio, rooted in Indian culture, creates handcrafted invitations for weddings and more. The moon and stars represent what Chand Sitara strives to evoke through their designs—the celebration of life’s moments of meaningful connection—like looking up at the night sky and knowing that your true love is somewhere in the world, looking up at the same stars. These magical feelings are at the heart of Chand Sitara’s intricate, elegant designs perfect for dreamers and romantics.
“I wanted the collection to be viewed as a tapestry of Indian culture—to pay homage to the different aspects of the Indian aesthetic but reinterpreted for a contemporary audience,” says Chand Sitara founder Nishika D’Silva. “What thrilled me most was the opportunity to reimagine traditional Indian wedding motifs. You tend to see these typical elements in most Indian wedding invitations—peacocks, temples, the lotus—and I was keen to reinterpret them from the lens of unique Indian crafts like Kalamkari, or completely modernize them by using a peacock as a large, bold, minimal motif.”
Clementina Sketchbook

London-based artist Clementina di Monte Rubello founded Clementina Sketchbook to share her love of watercolor painting with the world through her elegant and memorable artwork. Her world travels have served as the primary creative inspiration for her beautiful handpainted designs. “As an Italian living in London, and having lived in places like Buenos Aires, Washington D.C., New York, and Cape Town, I am fortunate to draw ideas and inspiration from the many cultures and experiences I’ve encountered,” Clementina explains. “Speaking various languages and living in different places has always helped me find the beautiful and sometimes less obvious elements to incorporate into my illustrations.”
“For my Paperless Post collection,” she continues, “I applied the same approach. You’ll find cards inspired by my African safaris and conservation experiences, the charms of nature from across the globe, my time in the USA and London, as well as parties and weddings I’ve dreamed of or attended in all corners of the world.”
In addition to her worldly adventures, Clementina is passionate about blending tradition with innovation in her invitations. “My designs aim to evoke intimacy and uniqueness, reflecting attention to detail and sparking creativity. When I paint, I feel like I’m creating a special world inspired by the beauty around us, but with a touch of magic. It’s colorful, playful, and timeless.”
Dogwood Hill

Dogwood Hill’s invitations and holiday greeting cards are crafted with care by a collective of talented artists and graphic designers. The intricately detailed, hand-painted illustrations found on their elegant designs feel both timeless and unique, as they are fittingly created by individual artists with a variety of backgrounds and sensibilities.
“Our artists each have their own personal style and draw from different inspirations, but we love that since each style is unique, it allows us to create collections that are very well-rounded,” says Dogwood Hill founder and CEO Jennifer Hunt.
On their process and timeline, Hunt explains how their artists are constantly thinking ahead, while also drawing inspiration from the many facets of the current season. “We like to ask our artists to create art for us a year in advance, typically during the season when we will be using the art the following year, “ she explains. “For our holiday collection, the artists are surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the season, which we think helps them get more in the spirit and inspires beautiful and festive art.”
Gold Rush Paper

If you’re looking for designs that evoke the feeling of California sunshine, look no further than Gold Rush Paper. Based in Los Angeles, Gold Rush Paper creates cheerful, modern-feeling designs featuring abstract shapes, pastel color schemes, and bold patterns perfect for bringing people together to celebrate any occasion.
Colorful and coastal, Gold Rush Paper’s designs feel deeply connected to their California roots, yet universal for all moments of shared joy. “Our collaboration with Paperless Post draws inspiration from our home base in Los Angeles, California,” they explain. “Designs are influenced by real-life adventures—perhaps the colors of a Leo Carrillo beach sunset while walking our dog might inspire the foundation of a new composition. Each design is crafted as a visual journey in storytelling, aiming to connect people meaningfully through shared experiences.”
On their Paperless Post invitation collection, Gold Rush Paper shares in the love of celebrating moments that matter with beautiful, elevated designs. “Together with Paperless Post, we developed ideas that align with our brand’s values: celebrating connections with nature, gathering with friends, and elevating the visual artistry of the written word.”
Goods Gang

Goods Gang creates unique, contemporary invitations that feature bold typography, thoughtful use of negative space, and unexpected layouts that draw from elements of modern graphic design as well as classic stationery. “My style leans heavily into surprising compositions and unexpected color combinations, but is founded on classic design principles,” describes Katrina, the founder and artist behind Goods Gang.
Often inspired by Swiss design, Katrina describes her artistic style as also stemming from keeping up with emerging cultural, fashion, and design trends. She speaks to the excitement of moving from paper-only to digital designs in her collection for Paperless Post: “My printed stationery style is constricted to black ink on colored paper, a purposeful choice that aims to highlight the main medium (paper) without the distraction of multiple printed colors. When designing for Paperless Post, I leaned into what a screen affords and it made room for more color and vibrancy, which was a fun and refreshing challenge for my work.”
Iris + Marie

Iris + Marie’s handpainted designs offer a fresh take on retro styles—bright, whimsical, and a little bit groovy. You can find invitations in playful die-cuts and vivacious colors, from Cards shaped like nostalgic jello molds and celebratory oyster platters to invitations for weddings, baby showers, and more featuring intricate floral artwork.
Shana Wanco, artist and founder behind Iris + Marie, draws influence from the natural world and the art world alike. “A lot of my inspiration comes from vintage textile artists like Vera Neumann and Tammis Keefe. I love the texture and pattern they bring to their work. I also draw inspiration from nature—we camp for five to ten days every summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and I always spot some beautiful mushrooms there. I tend to paint from the photos I take of the mushrooms, ferns & other flora. It’s nice to immerse myself in the outdoors, be unplugged, and notice all the little details around me.”
Min Heo

Whimsical, charming, and quirky illustrations are at the heart of Min Heo’s playful invitation designs. Often featuring sassy characters—everything from a martini with a face to a spooky (but mostly cute) black cat—Min Heo’s designs bring her humor and artistic talent together to create one-of-a-kind invitations for birthdays, brunches, bowling, and more.
On adapting her illustrations into digital invitations, Min explains how she embraced a different process than she usually employs for her sketches. “It was fun to flex a bit more graphic design skills and create more framing compositions that work with type instead of my usual full-on drawings. It really opened my eyes to different possibilities for my illustrations and I’m excited to work on more illustrations that incorporate text!”
“As for inspiration,” Min muses, “I draw a lot from my own life and experiences. Any funny little moment or even embarrassing one can make for a great illustration. My sister is such a funny character and I always get tons of ideas hanging out with her. I’ve always loved drawing characters since I was a kid. I like to think they are all small, different reflections of my inner self. The bunny is the sassy side of me, the cat is the mischievous part, and dogs represent the fun.”
Mōglea

Based out of Des Moines, Iowa, Moglea is a design studio that believes art belongs in the everyday. Featuring abstract shapes and patterns, bold colors, and modern typography, their designs are handcrafted to create one-of-a-kind invitations perfect for dinner parties and baby showers alike (and everything in between).
The Moglea production process involves hand-painting thick sheets of paper, cutting them down to form unique compositions, and finishing them in a traditional, antique letterpress—an intricate process that results in each design feeling like a distinctive work of art.
The contemporary designs and unexpected color palettes of Moglea’s printed artwork translate beautifully into their collection of joyful invitations for Paperless Post, perfect for those drawn to all things abstract, stylish, and modern.
Phthalo Ruth

The hand-crafted artwork of Brooklyn-based Phthalo Ruth celebrates life’s little luxuries, from the perfect dirty martini shared with best friends to a whimsical tea party with stacks of colorful macarons. The one-woman studio founded by designer and illustrator Meghan Kreger embraces playful linework and joyful pops of color to create invitations perfect for wining, dining, or any joyful soirée.
Describing her work as “playful and charming,” Meghan also states, “Hosting dinner parties and get-togethers is part of my ethos. I’ve even created some of my own dinner party invitations and hope to encourage more casual hosting with my brand. This project felt like a natural extension of that vision!” She also discusses how she brought her casual and fun energy into creating invitations for different kinds of events within her Paperless Post collection. “One new challenge was thinking about events like baby showers or bridal showers,” she says. “My work is very focused on celebrating the everyday, so designing for truly special occasions was a new and exciting venture! It was fun to imagine how “Phthalo” would approach these events—with plenty of play, of course!”
On her artistic process, Meghan explains, “Each design is hand-painted or hand-drawn. I love starting with physical materials and then bringing everything together digitally. That blend of digital and tactile elements is important to my work and it translates beautifully to the Paperless Post experience!”
Pulp Templates Co.

The illustrations found on Pulp Templates Co.’s invitation designs feel both sophisticated and spontaneous, featuring playful, scribble-style linework depicting celebratory occasions.
“I’ve always been a doodler at heart,” recalls Kristina, the artist behind Pulp Templates Co. “I start every idea this way, finding that gradually, themes emerge through letting the pen loose. I remember in school always scribbling all sorts of random things along the margins and any blank space on my paper I could find. I was told off by my teachers for my messy paperwork, but I guess it’s paid off now!”
“Living right in central London, inspiration is really everywhere you look,” Kristina explains, of her artistic influences. “I love absorbing a lot of vintage graphic design, particularly the spirit of mid-century illustration.”
The joyful designs of Pulp Templates Co. lend themselves perfectly to celebrating special moments and love-filled events, such as weddings and beyond. “I want every detail to feel personal, which I think is especially important when delivering on a digital platform,” Kristina states. “Because I start by hand drawing everything with pen and paper before digitizing, I aim to retain and exploit the little inconsistencies and imperfections that naturally arise in the process.”
Sketch Design Studio

Blending sophisticated style with expressive imagination, Sketch Design Studio creates beautiful invitations featuring botanical illustrations, traditional typography, and intricate borders. You’ll find everything from tigers and disco balls to sparkling fireworks, delicate florals, and more on the wide range of designs from Sketch Design Studio.
Artist Natalie Mankani, who founded Sketch Design Studio in Bangalore, India, explains the thought and care put into her design collection. “Since the early days of Sketch, I’ve always been a firm believer in thoughtful art. Behind every piece we do, there is meaning, research, and a story. I have a huge appreciation for the smaller details and that’s something that you’ll find in all our pieces.”
On her collection for Paperless Post, Natalie states, “I’m a big believer in romanticizing life, so to be able to create a gamut of work that will in some way be a part of someone’s big day or new beginning is so exciting to me.”
