Our Thanksgiving invitations also showcase plenty of fall-forward templates—just change the wording, and it’s instantly transformed into a baby-centric invite. For something more unique, surprise everyone by hosting a Halloween-themed shower at the end of October. Cruise through our Halloween party invitations featuring cute cartoon ghosts and smiling Jack-o-lanterns (just don’t forget to mention if costumes are required!)

How to plan a fall-themed baby shower

The first order of business when planning a baby shower is to pick a date and time—a mid-day party on the weekend usually works best for most guests. Many hold baby showers during the second trimester, but these days, some prefer to have a shower after the birth—an event known as a “sip and see.” Either way, start planning six to eight weeks in advance to give yourself plenty of time to prepare.

Once you’ve got the date, choose the venue. Traditionally, baby showers were hosted and planned by a close friend or family member of the parents-to-be and hosted at someone’s home. Nowadays, some couples decide to throw the shower themselves at their own home. If there isn’t enough space, renting a private room at a restaurant, tea house, hotel, or country club is an excellent choice with plenty of perks. Professional venues typically have food and drink packages to choose from on top of providing seating, hookups to projectors or speakers for entertainment, and staff to serve or help with setup, which means less for you to organize.

Once you pick a picture-perfect place, it’s time for decorative details. Work with colors that coincide with a fall theme—bonus points if you use florals pulled straight from your fall baby shower invitations. Consider entertainment—a simple slideshow with baby pictures of the parents is easy to organize and can run on repeat throughout the festivities. Games like a diaper toss, baby shower bingo, or lullaby-naming competition are also classic choices that will keep guests engaged from start to finish.

When to send fall baby shower invitations

Send your baby shower invitations three to four weeks before the date. If you plan to throw the event during a holiday, it’s best to give guests more time to prepare. Instead of sending a separate email with a link to your registry or wishlist, add a Registry Block that appears below your invitation. Blocks make sure your invitation design stays uncluttered while giving guests all the information they need. Once done, send your fall baby shower invitations via text, email, or shareable link.

After sending your adorable invitations, take a few minutes to organize baby shower thank you cards. Create them now but schedule a time for them to send automatically. You’ll thank yourself later.
